New Moon Casting Calls & Auditions

Summit Entertainment has started preparing to cast the sequel "New Moon", based on Stephenie Meyer's second book in the series. To contain costs, the studio is filming Meyer's third book, "Eclipse", back to back with a new director now that "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke is being replaced.

Hardwicke had until recently been thought a candidate to direct the sequel, but word began to circulate in the industry that her relationship with series producer Summit Entertainment has not always been smooth.

On Sunday, Summit confirmed that Hardwicke would not direct the film, saying in a statement that its plans to release the film in late 2009 or early 2010 did not mesh with Hardwicke's required prep time.

"Twilight", the film that drew legions of fans of Stephenie Meyer's vampire book series, earned an estimated $70.5 million in North American box-office receipts during its opening weekend. The movie rang up the fourth-highest November opening weekend of all time. That's an extraordinary result for an independently produced film that cost just $37 million to make and was passed over by Paramount's MTV Films.

Summit has said that they want to start auditions and casting the films new actors as soon as possible, as chemistry between talent has been the key to "Twilight's" huge success. The production company has a history of discovering new talent and not having to spend a laarge part of the production's budget on name stars. Although the stars of "Twilight" can expect a substantial pay increase for the upcoming films.

Auditions and casting call information for both "New Moon" and "Eclipse" is posted on following website:

Bernie Mac Died Early This Morning In Chicago

Actor and Comedian Bernie Mac died early this morning in a Chicago hospital from complications from pneumonia. Bernie Mac is best known for the Bernie Mac show, which I had the pleasure to meet and work with him. I am deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of my colleague and friend. Bernie Mac was so much more then a great actor, he was a really good man. Bernie deeply cared about his family, work, God, and other people. He always made you feel like family when working with him on the set. Bernie was hysterical to work with, always joking around and making everyone around him laugh. Bernie will be deeply missed. Today we have truly lost a great human being. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Rhonda and his daughter Je'Niece. God Bless His Family!

Angelina Jolie Gives birth and names the boy Knox Leon, and the girl, Vivienne Marcheline

The Brangelina twins are here: Angelina Jolie has given birth to a girl and a boy.

The obstetrician who delivered the twins, Dr. Michel Sussmann, told The Associated Press that the actress, the babies and Jolie's partner, actor Brad Pitt, "are doing marvelously well."

Sussmann said Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Leon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by Cesarian section Saturday night at 8:00pm.

He told the AP on Sunday morning that the boy weighed 5.03 pounds and the girl 5 pounds.

Pitt was there during the operation, said the doctor, who delivered the twins at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice in southern France.

"Everything is going well," said Sussmann. "The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well."

He said the Cesarian was moved forward from its originally planned date "for medical reasons" so that the babies could be born "in the best conditions." Sussman did not give details.

The doctor said Jolie is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days.

Nick Jonas is addicted to a stimulant!

Hardened pros often have a tough time getting going in the morning. The Jonas Brothers know all about that.

Nick Jonas is a major caffeine addict. He tells Teen magazine he has an energy drink when he gets up and coffee at breakfast, coffee at dinner and another energy drink before he goes onstage.

As he puts it, "Then I'm good."

Given the track record of popular musicians, Nick is doing just fine, caffeine is a much better addiction than cocaine or methanphetamines.

Another addiction that Nick Jonas (and his brothers) has is playing Guitar Hero! Kevin, 20, exclaimed, “Guitar Hero is a necessity for us! I totally understand John Mayer’s perspective but for me I think it’s a great way to introduce the idea of an instrument to a generation of a young age. Maybe you would go on from there and transition into actually learning how to play and things like that. I’m the Guitar Hero guru of the Jonas Brothers!”

Topless Miley Cyrus Photos

(Miley Cyrus photo by Annie Leibovitz
exlusively for Vanity Fair Magazine)

Is Miley Cyrus a bad role model? The general consensus seems to be yes.

It seems that anything Miley Cyrus does these days is scrutinized under a microscope. The latest escapade with the "topless Miley Cyrus photos" is a perfect example.

While on the Vanity Fair photo shoot, neither Miley, her parents, or anyone else on the shoot, ever said anything about the photos being "too racey" or "inappropriate". But after all of the hoopla and media circus, Miley is changing her tune. In a caption released by Vanity Fair with the photo last week, Cyrus expressed her comfort with how the apparently topless picture turned out.

"I think it's really artsy," she told the magazine at the time. "It wasn't in a skanky way. Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought that was really cool. That's what she wanted me to do, and you can't say no to Annie."

But now this week, Miley seems to have changed her mind.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," Cyrus said Sunday in a statement through her publicist. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

"Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day," the magazine said. "Since the photo was taken digitally, everyone saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."

A spokesman for The Disney Channel, which airs the Hannah Montana TV show, said: "Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines."

But it was indeed Miley's Parents who are responsible for making sure that "manipulation" does not occur and the hands of Vanity Fair, or any one else.

Senior Citizens Get In The Act On Hannah Montana Movie

Millions on kids showed up for the Hannah Montana Movie open call for extras in Nashville on April 6th, but now Senior Citizens can get in on the act, as the film needs older aged background actors to fill the void of real people in the production.

An estimated 6,000 girls lined up on a Sunday morning April 6th at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a fight for position in the early hours of the morning. A shot at being in the next Hannah Montana movie was on the line. But as the casting directors piled up the photos for young aspiring extras, one thing was certain.... where are the adults?

As most films require all ages and types of people to fill the background in order to make the scene look real, Hannah Montana Movie casting directors are seeking interest from the over-18 crowd wanting to be a part of the show. Now the film is focusing especially on casting senior citizens to work as extras in the upcoming production.

People interested in being an extra and are adults 18 and older, especially people 50 and older can fill out a form and send in a photo. The details are on the Hannah Montana Casting Blog.

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens unlikely to appear in High School Musical 4

Disney has begun work on a fourth installment of the High School Musical film series, with the movie’s main stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens not willing to appear.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year is set for release later this year and fans were led to believe the movie would be the final episode in the hit franchise.

But now the company has revealed plans are well underway for another film, with a script already being penned.

Disney Channel Worldwide President Rich Ross confirmed the news to MTV, saying: "We are writing High School Musical 4.

"We have learned that just putting a number next to a title is a very old idea. We have to have a new story."

All the stars of the original TV movie, including Zac Efron who plays Troy, Vanessa Hudgens starring as Gabriella and Ashley Tisdale in Sharpay’s role, have signed up for the third picture.

However Ross fears Disney might not be able to persuade the entire original cast to reprise their roles for a fourth time.

He adds, "Are we going to have all the cast back? Probably not. Will we have some of them? I hope so." But Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will pass on the 4th installment of the Disney Channel Franchise.

Auditions and Casting information for High School Musical 4 will be posted Here.
